Student Fees and Payments

Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding your payment obligations is an important part of maintaining active ICAB student membership. Below are answers to the most common questions about student fees, renewal deadlines, and what to do if you miss a payment. Members of the public are encouraged to review these reports to better understand ICAB’s work, governance, and quality assurance processes.

The annual student subscription fee is BBD $58.75 VAT inclusive. When applying for the first time, you are required to pay both an application fee and the annual subscription fee, each BBD $58.75 VAT inclusive.

Yes. There are no fixed application deadlines for ICAB student membership. You may apply at any time through the ICAB Member Portal.

Annual student membership fees are due by 31 January each year. Students registered under the ICAB and ACCA Joint Examination Scheme have until 30 April to pay, in line with the joint scheme arrangement.

If fees remain unpaid after the deadline, your student membership may be cancelled and you may be removed from the ICAB student register. If you are registered under the ACCA Joint Examination Scheme, late payment to either body may result in removal from both registers, making you ineligible to sit ACCA examinations.

There are no specific late payment penalties, but failure to pay on time may result in removal from the student register. To be readmitted, you must pay a readmission fee of BBD $58.75 VAT inclusive plus the current annual subscription fee of BBD $58.75 VAT inclusive.

If you are removed from the student register, you must apply for readmission through the ICAB Member Portal. Readmission requires payment of the readmission fee and the annual subscription fee. Students removed from the register are normally required to wait at least one year before being readmitted.

No. There are no discounts, waivers, or concessions available for student membership fees.

Yes, if you are pursuing the ACCA qualification under the Joint Examination Scheme. ICAB is the only Joint Examination Scheme partner in Barbados, and all students pursuing ACCA must be registered with both ICAB and ACCA. Both bodies have separate fee structures and you are responsible for settling fees with each.

You must register with both simultaneously. ICAB requires that all students enrolled in ACCA examinations in Barbados register as ICAB student members at the same time. Registering with one body without the other does not satisfy the Joint Examination Scheme requirements.

ICAB entered a Joint Examination Scheme agreement with ACCA in 1982. ICAB is the only JES partner in Barbados, meaning any student pursuing the ACCA designation in Barbados must be registered with ICAB. Upon completing the ACCA qualification, members of ACCA are eligible to apply for full ICAB membership.
