ICAB handles all complaints with care and confidentiality. You can be assured that your identity will remain anonymous outside of the necessary investigative and communicative procedures.
ICAB's jurisdiction applies to conduct that occurred while the individual was a registered member. If the person is no longer a member, ICAB may still review the matter depending on the circumstances. Contact ICAB directly if you are unsure whether your complaint falls within its jurisdiction.
Yes, you can expect communication if your complaint is accepted or denied and when our investigative or disciplinary committees have reached a verdict during an ongoing investigation.
A complete complaint should include your contact details, the name and contact information of the member or firm you are complaining about, a clear description of the conduct and when it occurred, and any supporting documents or evidence. Complaints with little or no supporting evidence may be unlikely to proceed.
ICAB is a professional regulatory body, not a court. ICAB cannot award damages or financial compensation in the way a court can. The disciplinary process may result in sanctions against a member, including cautions, fines payable to ICAB, suspension, or expulsion, but it does not provide a route to recovering money owed to you.
If you are unsure whether your concern falls within ICAB's remit or need guidance before submitting, you may contact the ICAB Secretariat at adminmanger@icab.bb or by calling +1 (246) 429-5678.
