Members must complete: •A minimum of 20 CPD hours each year, and •At least 120 CPD hours over a rolling three-year period, of which 60 hours must be verifiable. A flexible approach is allowed, provided the three-year requirement is met.

Members are encouraged to: •Plan CPD activities throughout the year •Maintain a mix of verifiable and non-verifiable learning •Ensure activities are relevant to their role or career development

CPD can include a wide range of topics such as: •Accounting and auditing •Taxation •Financial management •Information technology •Leadership and management development

A member is considered non-compliant if they: •Do not submit a CPD declaration •Do not meet the required hours •Fail to comply with the Regulations Non-compliance may result in: •Formal notification •Requirement to submit a remediation plan •Referral to the Investigations or Disciplinary Committees if issues persist

Yes. ICAB may conduct audits of CPD submissions and request supporting documentation to verify compliance.

CPD ensures members: •Maintain professional competence •Keep up to date with evolving standards •Meet international requirements under IFAC •Provide high-quality services in the public interest

If registration for the CPD was made through the Portal, the hours are recorded in the Member’s account following confirmation of attendance at the CPD. If the CPD was hosted by an alternative organization, members must record the details and hours for the CPD activity in the Portal and then submit it.

Regardless of the origin of your CPD activities, CPD declarations must be submitted annually through the ICAB Member Portal.

CPD declarations must be submitted by March 31 of the following year.

No. Supporting documents are not required at the time of submission but must be retained in case of audit. However, the ICAB Member Portal does allow members to upload supporting documentation when non-ICAB CPD activities are uploaded to a member’s account.

Members must retain supporting documentation for at least the most recent three- year period.

Yes. You must still submit a CPD declaration to ICAB. You may indicate that you are meeting your requirements through another approved professional body, provided the requirements are equivalent to ICAB’s.

Yes, provided the training is relevant and meets the CPD criteria. However, you must still record and submit it to ICAB yourself.

Yes. In exceptional circumstances, the Council may grant exemptions. Applications must be submitted using the prescribed form in the ICAB Member Portal with supporting justification.
