ICAB Annual Conference

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB) was created by an Act of Parliament on 1 November 1974. Its objectives are inter alia to promote, foster and maintain the highest standard of accounting in public practice, the public service and the commercial and industrial spheres.

ICAB is the sole regulatory body that issues practising certificates authorising accountants to sign audit reports in Barbados. ICAB ensures quality assurance and conducts practice monitoring reviews of those practising members to ensure compliance with all applicable international standards and best practices.

ICAB requires its members to adhere to its continuing professional development (CPD) requirements and monitors the adherence to this.

Our membership is almost 2,000 strong, comprising approximately 1,047 chartered accountants and 829 registered students. Accountants’ Week  was launched by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados in November 2009 to profile and highlight the accounting profession, and its relevance to the private and public sectors of Barbados.
